The Americas/ China and India

One of the well known Chinese architecture is the the Great Wall of China that was built to go for about 5500-13,000 miles long that included watch towers form what history tell us that when the people that were building the wall died that their bodies where put inside during the making of the wall it was built in the early 7th century BC during the reign of the emperor Qin Shi Huang in order to protect his empire and the wall kept being added on until the Ming era.

Another aspect that we can see from Chinese architecture is that the use timber framed structures in many of their temples that they used to worship their gods

This is the Todaji temple that can be found in Japan as you can see it uses Timber frames

Looking back in traditional Chinese home interiors we made with unique wooden design and wooden floors and were well light and much of the furniture is made to be like and stable much like a folding chair that wouldn't take much space and be able to be mode to other rooms if someone needing.

Furniture

same structure idea but different type of material for longer use

Interior

this still uses the same elements but a bit less such as the wooden plane in the side that you would have seen in the older Chinese interior design but it still looks nice.

this a moderne version of Chinese architecture that is located in Liangjiashan

The Americas the Mayans were known to have created the ball court that help inspire many other type of games such as soccer or basketball

one step further

Wang Shu is a famous Chinese Architect that have made many beautiful buildings Xiangshan Campus, China Academy of Art built in the 2004 and finish in the year 2007

Wang Shu was born in the year 1963 in Urumqi and study in the Nan Nanjing
institute of technology and got his degree in architecture and masters in that school.

  1. Irma,
I thought your bog was good and provided enough visual context to go along with the text. Maybe consider a little less pictures and a little more words? I felt as if there could have been a lot more to say about the design seen within these countries. Your One Step Further, however, was well done!

  4. Hey Irma! I really enjoyed the images you used! They were well-picked and you included a good variety. I personally liked the one from Liangjiashan since it is elevated and has a transparent feeling to it. Good job!
