During the Final expulsion of the moors in 1607 cause a great loss to the handicrafts and commerce of the southern Spain.

The Spanish architecture were inspire by early Christian and the Italian renaissance the Italian renaissance the most since the Italian influenced not only the Spanish but also the French and they're craftsmanship were on high demand by other countries.

The Alhambra, Granada 1354 is the last building built before the expulsion of the moors

The castle mota had some similar structure to the Alhambra with an simple exterior and made of same material

The Granda Cathedral has gothic features as well as which shows how much influence the Gothic era had with the Spanish architecture this architecture has also a Gothic vaulting in it.


this house is a Spanish contemporary and it is located in Austin Texas



this interior is made in the Taylor/Lippiate residence, originally designed by architect Roland Coate in the late 1920s.

Antoni Gaudi was born in the year of June 25 1852 and died in the hunt 10 1926 some of his notable works that he build were the Casa Batllo and casa Mia and most of all the Sagrada familia


 this is the Sagrada familia that Antoni Gaudi built.

    Irma- I loved your Blog entry this week. You introduced this period and focused on the influence of the Moors. Your current examples are very interesting. I loved the Glendale Verdugo woodlands Spanish revival home. Diving deeper into Antonio Gaudi was perfect. 50/50 points

    I thought your blog post was very interesting! I enjoyed the pictures you provided; however, I think a little more description into specific features and characteristics of Spanish Renaissance could've made this blog even better. Well done!

  English Renaissance The English Renaissance lasted from 1550 to 1660. During sub-periods, they were named after this time and had unique designs for rulers. The Tudor Style was created during a conflict between the pope and King Henry V11. he later became the head of the Church of England and increased the number of houses and land given to wealthy merchants and traders during his reign.   The Americas/ China and India One of the well known Chinese architecture is the the Great Wall of China that was built to go for about 5500-13,000 miles long that included watch towers form what history tell us that when the people that were building the wall died that their bodies where put inside during the making of the wall it was built in the early 7th century BC during the reign of the emperor Qin Shi Huang  in order to protect his empire and the wall kept being added on until the Ming era.
