 English Renaissance Neoclassic 2

The Neoclassic English period lasted from 1750 to 1830. During this time, the excavations of Pompeii reintroduced the arts of Greece and Rome.

The Neoclassic English period introduced many different architects, such as Robert Adam, George Hepplewhite, and Thomas Sheraton. The Neoclassic people contributed to the English period; each architect inspired the others, such as Thomas Sheraton, who made his chairs white legs style using the Hepplewhite.

Thomas Sheraton created the pedestal desk in a shape similar to the main idea of making it into a multipurpose kidney. 



This is the Pedestal desk.


This is a modern pedestal desk. It has the same idea of having drawers on the side but doesn't have the kidney shape of the original pedestal desk.

The architect, Robert Adam, used pale green or cream colors on the interior walls and purple or faded rose for the panels, complementing the pale green or cream walls well.

Robert Adam, born July 3, 1728, was an architect, interior designer, and furniture designer during the neoclassical English period. He started the neoclassical period and was responsible for the Greek and Roman art revival. Between 1776 and 1792, he built the Culzean castle.

  English Renaissance The English Renaissance lasted from 1550 to 1660. During sub-periods, they were named after this time and had unique designs for rulers. The Tudor Style was created during a conflict between the pope and King Henry V11. he later became the head of the Church of England and increased the number of houses and land given to wealthy merchants and traders during his reign. The Tudor style was the start of the English Renaissance.  This is a Tudor-style House. The Gothic era inspired the Tudor style, much like Box-like chairs, beds, and trestles.   The Americas/ China and India One of the well known Chinese architecture is the the Great Wall of China that was built to go for about 5500-13,000 miles long that included watch towers form what history tell us that when the people that were building the wall died that their bodies where put inside during the making of the wall it was built in the early 7th century BC during the reign of the emperor Qin Shi Huang  in order to protect his empire and the wall kept being added on until the Ming era.
